THE CASTLE IN-HOUSE TOURNAMENTS
WANT TO BE A CASTLE CLUB CHAMPION? THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!
You can enter by using our online entry form, please click on the link at the top of this page.
The tournaments will run from end of July until the end of year . There will be a set period in which you can play each match with each round being drawn.
As well as our usual tournaments, the Castle Snooker Open, Doubles Handicap and Singles Handicap there will also be the Castle Under-21s and the Castle Pool Open.
The winner of each tournament will be immortalised on the Castle Honours Boards as well as receiving a trophy!
COMPETITION RULES
General Rules
All matches must be played by the deadline issued for that round. If not either or both of the players may be disqualified from the tournament dependent on circumstances. The decision for this will be determined by the Castle Tournament Committee which consists of Patrick Adams and Paul McNeil. Extensions will not be granted.
Entry is free and the cost of the table light is to be paid by the loser of each match (this way everyone only pays once!).
As always at the Castle we ask that all matches are played in a fun, respectful and sporting manner.
Castle Snooker Open Championship
This is a scratch event (i.e. no handicaps!), the winner of this will be crowned the best snooker player at the club!
Matches will be best of 5 frames, semis best of 7 and the final will be best of 9.
Castle Snooker Handicap Championship
All players will be assigned a handicap upon entry to this event (it may not be the same as your current Order of Merit handicap), we aspire to be as fair as possible so that everyone, regardless of ability, has an equal chance of winning this event.
Matches will best of 5, with the final being best of 7.
Castle Snooker Doubles Handicap Championship
Handicaps will be an average of the two players singles handicaps.
All matches will be best of 5 including the final.
Castle Pool Open Championship
This tournament will be played under Blackball Rules.
Matches will be best of 9 frames, semis will be best of 13 and the final will be best of 15.
